"WAQAR NEEDS TO INSTILL DISCIPLINE"
KARACHI: Ramiz Raja believes that to succeed as Pakistan"s coach, Waqar Younis will have to instill discipline within his team.
Ramiz told "The News" that the current Pakistan team lacks discipline and the only way to gets the best out of it is by curbing that problem. "Our team lacks discipline. It"s Pakistan"s biggest problem at the moment and I believe that Waqar will have to make his number one priority to instill discipline in the team," said Ramiz.
Ramiz, a former Pakistan captain, hoped that Waqar will deliver the goods as national coach. "The thing is that Waqar has played the modern game and should have modern thinking which is a plus point," he said.
Waqar, a former Pakistan Test pacer, will begin his stint as Pakistan coach later this month. He replaces Intikhab Alam as coach. Intikhab, also a former Pakistan captain, played his cricket several decades ago. He has been sacked after Pakistan"s poor showing in Australia where they lost the Test series 3-0 and the one-day series 5-0.
