Harbhajan eyeing IPL title

Harbhajan Singh has his sights on the Indian Premier League title following the Mumbai Indians' crushing win over the Deccan Chargers on Saturday night.

The Indians strengthened their place at the top of the IPL table with their fifth consecutive victory, by 63 runs against the defending champions.

Mumbai now have an impressive 7-1 win-loss record and with six matches remaining before the end of the round-robin it would take an unlikely dip in form to prevent them from reaching the finals for the first time.

Harbhajan, however, has ambitions beyond reaching the last-four.

"We are not thinking of the semi-finals. Our goal is much bigger than that," the 29-year-old said.

"We just want to keep on playing good cricket. We have worked very hard to get to this moment and credit must go to all the boys.

"I'm sure they are all looking forward to the remaining six matches in the league and then the semis and the finals."

Mumbai's latest success at the Brabourne Stadium was built around another all-round display as they first posted a competitive 178 for five before squeezing the life out of Deccan's chase.

The Chargers could manage just 115 all out in reply, as their inability to build a meaningful partnership cost them dear.

The Indians were far more composed with the bat and while Ambati Rayudu led the way with an unbeaten 55 from 29 balls it was his half-century stands with Saurabh Tiwary (44) and Kieron Pollard (21) in the late overs that were the difference.

"Everyone has been taking responsibility including the young players in this team," Harbhajan added.

"These guys are coming in and performing and that is good for the team and hopefully they can keep doing that for the team.

"I am really happy that we have been playing good cricket. I just want to keep winning games for the Mumbai Indians."
