Write your own Pakistan crisis story

C365's write-your-own Pakistan cricket crisis story - simply fill in the gaps and delete as appropriate...

Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousuf has again announced his retirement from/return to international cricket.

The xx-year-old has been excluded by the PCB since the volatile tour of ?, which proved disastrous as internal politics undermined the team's performances on the pitch.

There has followed a period of blood-letting in which Pakistan have lurched from one difficulty to another - without doubt the nation's biggest cricketing crisis since insert last crisis here.

At Sunday's press conference Yousuf told reporters, "I always played for my country but now my career is over/and I am delighted at this recall to Pakistan cricket."

Added Yousuf, "I thank the fans around the world, my colleagues and family members for supporting me."

The decision represents the nth occasion on which Yousuf has walked out on/triumphantly returned to the national side and comes at a dramatic time.

Fellow former captain Younis Khan is also absent/on his way back, the PCB is conducting an inquiry into failed drugs tests/match-fixing/their last enquiry and Shoaib Akhtar has missed out on the squad for their upcoming series with a back injury/due to long queues at the pharmacy/at auditions for the new IPL Bollywood musical Dumbslog Millionaire.

Nothing is permanent in Pakistan cricket. Yousuf appears to have kept a window open for return to the international arena/an imminent retirement, revealing that he has taken the advice of "the elders".

He insisted that his decision was only 'Filhaal' [for now] and that a u-turn might be possible after he has consulted "the elders".

Whatever happens next, his legacy is clear. A record of 24 Test centuries with eight wins, eight draws and eight defeats proves Yousuf a batsman you can pigeon hole as you like.

And while his international career remains in doubt, Yousuf's immediate future is not in doubt. The right-hander was emphatic that in the future he will remain available to make bucketloads/wheelbarrows-full of money in private leagues.
